I'm clearly running into storage issues. I knew I would, but I was hoping that the external would carry most of the weight. I'm running into the problem where the Surface knows the external is networked and will not allow me to run some installed programs from it.
I'm wondering if what I need is either a Symbolic Link or a Junction? What exactly is the difference when it comes to making my Surface believe the networked drive is a local resource.
Is that possible with what I have here? And would it make a difference if the Seagate was physically attached? I'm not a big gamer, so really the types of things I'm looking to run are MSOffice, Filezilla, various remote software programs, Notepad++. Nothing crazy so my CPU & RAM are of little concern (i think, unless this will up either of their usages)
