Hi guys, very new at using Reddit but here goes.
I have 6 drives in my rig. only have 6 sata slots so 6 is all i can fit. I have my C: which is a 128gb ssd, 2x 2tb drives, 2x kingston ssds in raid. finally i have my Android hdd this is a 500gb drive with 465gb of usable storage. The Android drive contains archived Googla Apps for the past 6 generations, custom roms, recoverys, backups, .apks and heaps of other stuff. I also have a Movies drive in my rig but not plugged in atall, this is a 640gb drive. recently we have changed isps and lost internet for a month. i decided to unplug my Android drive and plug in my movies drive. I shutdown and power off at the mains then drain residual power by pressing power button. I then unplug Android drive and plug in the movies drive. power up and all is good watching my backed up movies. then internet comes back and need my android drive again. same process. shutdown, off at mains, drain residual, unplug movies drive and plug in android drive.
this is where the problem is. when i power up my rig, windows does not read the android drive as android drive. it has retained the name movies drive. and when i open it there is nothing in there. windows is reading that the drive is a 500 gb (465gb) drive AND that 30gb is used bringing free space down to 435gb. but its empty.there was also alot more on that drive than just 30gb. the movies drive was nearly full at like 500gb used. i tired in another system and same issue. windows has done something to this drive and the drive has remembered it. i have run a data recovery on the drive and no files found in standard scan. and deep scan is taking hours. got to 20% and found nothing but system volume and another system information file. I would really like to have everything back the way it was. any ideas, suggestions or information regarding will be greatly appreciated. my system does not have any restore points. windows 10 ver 10.0.16299 Build 16299 i5 7500, 24gb ram, asrock fatal1ty h270 performance. thanks in advance to anyone who has taken the time to read this headf*ck
