Hey guys, so I've been noticing some declining performance in games like Battlefield 1 recently, and my CPU usage seems to be the issue. I've gone through all the checks, and the biggest issue I can see is that my CPU is running way too hot- from what I understand it should be sub-80 degrees celsius, but mine runs at 90 at least, and as high as 100. It's an i7 2600k @3.4ghz, unclocked and I've never tampered with it in any way.
The fan is working by the looks of things, as are my case's fans, so airflow shouldn't be an issue. It's possible that the heatsink isn't working, so is there any way to check if that's the issue? I'm willing to replace the heatsink but I'd rather know if it was the problem before I drop some cash on it.
Any other possibilities? Thanks guys!
