I am pulling two different error codes trying to get Win10 Pro activated from an OEM ISO ( "WIN PRO 10 64BIT ENGLISH 1PK DSP OEI DVD VERSION 1703" Build Date: 5/11/17) installation.
We can't activate Windows on this device becasue you don't have a valid digital licence or product key. If you think you do have a valid licence or key, slect Troubleshoot below. Error code: 0xC004C003
and lower on the activation page
The last product key (ID: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-AAOEM)* you entered can't be used on this copy of Windows. (0x803FA067)
Troulbeshoot does nothing, nor does the support pages or chat bot that I eventually got linked to. I've tried reactivating and changing the product key as well.
These errors return search results for upgrade issues, but this is a clean install with OEM iso and the key from the COA sticker in the pacage. I purchased it shiped and sold from Amazon and the package looks legit.
Installation and update seem to have gone just fine (now on Version 1709, OS Build 16299.309). This is slightly older, but decent (i5 3.33Ghz,8gbram,960), hardware that had win7 home from an OEM system builder disk installed sometime ago, but spent the last year or two as a linux machine. The only hiccup in installation is that I ended up running the disc install portion twice to remove partitions on a second disc that had an old grub that was interfering with the reboot process. Everything went as expected after that though.
The only useful thing I found searching was (the hopefully safe) showkeyplus which returns win10 pro, version 16299.309, the same product ID and installed key that activation shows, but no OEM key. When I check the product key I get Win 10 RTM Professional OEM:DM.
Did I get the wrong kind of OEM disk? Did I need to use the preinstall kit? Should showkeyplus be showing an OEM key?
Is it counterfit or did someone get into the package and activate the key? If so can I return it or get help from microsoft?
Could this be because of how I installed? Do I need to use the media creation tool and try again, or would that then just look like another computer trying to use the same key?
Thanks again for reading this, and specially if you can point me in the right direction to resolve this.
*Note that this shows the whole product ID and it is not the COA product liscence key I entered.
