I work for a tech startup and I've been tasked with designing the training course for a program we use.

So far, I have an intro, a few icebreakers planned, a sort of cheat sheet Google Docs file with a few checklists and a flowchart, a Google Slides presentation, a follow-along demo and a few exercises.

I've been totally pouring over online resources this week doing research and even consulted my friend who has his master's in adult education for some tips. I really want to hit this out of the park because I think it's my key to a decent raise if I nail it. I think it's pretty solid so far but Reddit is always a great sounding board, so here I am.

I'm hoping to keep it memorable and engaging and maintain a light, comfortable atmosphere. I have a few light jokes planned and I figure with the use of different materials, engaging different learning styles and allowing a lot of discussion and critical thinking, the training will go over well. I don't want it to be cheesy or immature and elementary-school style. I also don't want it to be cringe or conversely, too staunch. Its a startup, so I have a lot of creative control and can use quite a bit of nerd and meme humor but it's still an office, so it's gotta be appropriate.

If any of you have witnessed or done any great presentations or training courses, please let me know what made them special in the comments. Also, if you have any recommendations on what not to do, please leave them too. Thanks!

Edit: The program is one that we use to send messages back and forth to clients. I figure this might be useful context.
