Ok so long story short my dad upgraded to the v20, and as they are moving over seas, he game me his v10. He called verizon and the unlocked it.
The SIM would not work, and tmobile tech support was amazing. Walked me through all the APN setup, and he explained that while i was in calls, that i would not get 4gLTE signal, and it would drop to the edge. I figured alright not too bad.
Well after I got off the phone with him if i sent, received a text made a call, or tried to access VM it would kick me back down to either global or the edge if it was feeling nice.
So i call back, He says he is seeing all the errors im telling him about, he said the sim was getting errors when it tried to revert back to 4gLTE after being on G or the edge. He reset the chip and it still did not work.
Now i have the option of being able to just flip airplane mode on and off, and the 4gLTE comes right back on, until i try to use the phone for phone stuff. Not too big of an inconvenience.
My question is two pronged. Is there anything I can do with the phone, or its settings that i am missing, to make this issue go poof?
Or, is there a good way you could use a task app, to make some sort of statement that if fulfilled it would automatically turn my airplane mode on and off?? I hope im making sense, pretty much what i mean is-- "if phone has been on the edge network for more than 30 seconds, turn on airplane mode, than switch it back off"type statement. Ive fuddled around with those apps, and never saw a need in my life for one, until now. I was hoping for some guidance in this issue if anyone can help me.
