Hi there, I built a PC last year and in my old house used a wired connection and got expected results. I have since moved house and now am required to connect to the Wireless connection which I have set up myself. This is using a perfectly fine modem, and a Google Wifi device for routing. My PC connects via a TP-Link TN-WN823N.
I have previously used this USB connection before and have had no issues. I also have tested the wireless via plenty of other devices in my home at various locations - all of which get around 50 down, 10 up. This includes two iPhones, and iPad, a Macbook, a PS4, a Nintendo Switch, my Samsung TV, my Dell work laptop from 2012.
The connection I receive on my PC is a consistent 4 down, 2 up. It never gets lower and it never gets higher. The software of my TP-Link USB device says that the PC gets between 89 and 100 'signal strength'. All of this has lead me to believe that there is some sort of bottleneck that is within the PC - either software or hardware.
I have been reading a lot of forum posts and nothing has helped yet. For reference, I run Windows 10, I have updated all drivers, service packs etc. The PC's location should not limit the signal in any way. And the actual speed of the home wireless is superb.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
