Hello,

A month or so ago I realized I was having a severe FPS drop (Rocket League ~35fps when normallly 200+), and I had no clue why. I updated drivers, switched monitors, literally have done everything in the book and couldn't solve the issue.

Cue to a week or so ago, I'm having mouse issues in Rocket League. Without looking, I pull out one of the cords from my computer thinking its my mouse when it was actually my HDMI that I have connected to my TV, but not being used. And viola, my frames shoot through the roof and life is good.

Now, my question is, is there any specific reason this happens? It makes no sense in my mind how simply having an HDMI connected but not being used would lower my fps so much. It doesn't matter that my TV is on or off, but simply having the HDMI connected lowers my frames. The only thing I could imagine is that my CPU is trying to do work for both my Monitor and TV at the same time even when the TV is not being used. IS that how it's supposed to work?

Just to be clear, I have:
Monitor-->HDMI--> Graphics Card
TV--> HDMI --> Motherboard

Again, I'm just curious if anyone knows why this happens.

Much love!
