I have been on my own personal 100mbps modem/router connection using ethernet for PC and wifi for phone over a long period of time now. I am moving to a house soon into a rented room that has a modem/router in the hallway with a speed that is also 100mbps. It is currently being shared by about 4 USB ethernet cables, which I will be in the plugging mine into the last port. I guess-timate about 3 phones will be using the wifi. Is it necessary/efficient for me to buy my own router for my room and connect the hallway router to my room router and into my PC? Will it make any sort of difference or ensure I don't get lag spikes or disconnects?
Also throwing in the fact that I am going to have to get a 20 ft ethernet cable. Looking at a CAT7 RJ45 10 Gigabit.
