My gaming PC from 2015 running Windows 10 seems unable to deliver a video signal to my monitor. I'd post the speccs, but I can't since the monitor doesn't work and I don't have the receipt anymore.
I think it has nothing to do with the monitor, as it goes from "Check video cable" to "No signal" upon insertion of a DVI or VGA cable. So it knows it's supposed to receive a signal, but it doesn't, and then it just says "No signal" and goes into sleep mode.
I recently moved, and I'm afraid the PC was damaged in the process (it's a computer tower) as I didn't carry it myself and it was being driven around in cars with only a towel around it for protection.
I've tried opening the PC tower now but I don't know enough about the hardware to tell if there's an issue. Nothing obvious to see.
I tried 3 different cords now (VGA/VGA, DVI/DVI, VGA/DVI) and it doesn't help. Also, there's two DVI entrances in the back of the computer (one in the bottom, one in the middle) and I tried both, still didn't help.
So yeah, how I can tell if my video card has been damaged. safe of buying another screen? I might be able to loot a screen from work tomorrow, but I suspect the screen is alright. Unfortunately, I have no way of testing it as everything else I own are either Apple products or HDMI based.
Thanks in advance for any help on troubleshooting this video card.
