I hope I’m doing this right I’ve never used reddit before XD
While I’m at university, Mum’s laptop connects to the router/internet just fine.
When I come home, Mum’s laptop either displays that it can’t connect to the router or that it is connected to the router but there is no internet. (All other devices continue connecting & receiving internet just fine).
It literally only happens when I’m home. So, Mum being Mum, she’s mad at me and seems to think I’m deliberately sabotaging it or something XD
I haven’t bought any new devices recently. It was fine for a while and then just stopped working without any obvious cause. The only thing that’s changed is they have a new iPad; it’s been connected to the router but rarely gets used.
I remember fiddling with the router settings (changing the security type maybe??), after googling for ages, and that seemed to help temporarily. I also reset & updated the router, checked for driver updates and used the troubleshooter on laptop but those things didn’t help.
Presumably it’s something to do with one of my devices connecting to the router. Beyond that...I’m flummoxed. (I do alright with technology when I have to fiddle but don’t have a great knowledge of much).
Mum’s laptop is a 5 year old Fujitsu-Siemens running Windows 10. (If I should give any more details please ask and I’ll find them :3 ) The router is a BT Home Hub 2.0.
What can I do?! Thanks in advance :)
