So my house has 2 cable connections that can have modems attached to them. Until recently, we've used a single modem/router in a location that allowed me to wire up my computer directly. We've upgraded to a better modem/router, and took the opportunity to move it to the other, more centrally located cable port.
I'm noticing a massive drop in speed on my end and want to get a wired connection again. Can I reconnect the old modem/router to the other port and use it for the wired connection only, turning off the wifi so as not to interfere with the other router? And would my isp care that both ports are in use?
