So my newly installed Kubuntu keeps crashing in an unpredictable manner. Some of the symptoms when crashing:
- Disappearing tool bars
- Dissapearing icons
- Shell commands gives something along the lines of: "Lost child process"
- Desktop is completely unfunctional and I can't reboot the computer properly, so I'd have to do a hard reset
This exact problem used to happen in a previous stock Ubuntu setup. Common stuff between both setups where:
- MBR Partition table
- an Ubuntu kernel obviously
So I checked my syslog and kernel log files after Googling for a while, and honestly, I do not understand most of it. :D
It also might be a problem with my hard disk? I did a S.M.A.R.T check and it passed plus there is no clicking or any physical symptoms.
Any help?
