First off, sorry if this is the wrong subreddits. I'm not the most tech savvy person, so this seemed as good a place as any to ask.
Anyways, I just want some kind of external hard drive. I'm not looking to make it super secure from hacking or anything like that, although it would be nice to have something physically durable, that would hopefully hold out for years to come. Being able to have some basic password protection would be nice, but it's not like I'm hiding government secrets or anything.
I don't necessarily need a ton of space, either, although 1TB would certainly be nice. I've seen a few 4TB in my price range, but unsure of the quality and if they suit my specific needs or not.
Would you guys happen to have any specific models or brands you might recommend for someone like me? Or for ths t matter, maybe there's something I've not even considered that might suit me better (ie. Having some personal cloud storage or something)? Like I said, my main goal is just preserving files for years down the road.
