Hey Reddit!
First, an acknowledgement. I screwed up. I'm an idiot. I know it, no way around it. And there might be no way to un-screw this.
Here is what happened:
I have a 6 TB drive, with a partition X: on it. This is my encrypted partition. I select it in Veracrypt, and mount it to the D: drive letter using my password. I do not have my headers backed up, again beceause I'm an idiot and didn't realize how important it was.
I decided that I needed to be extra safe, and protect my drive from drive failure. So, I bought a second 6 TB drive, and I decided I would essentially combine the two of them in a Raid 1 array.
I plugged in the drive, booted into Windows (10 pro x64 btw). I then went to Manage, and went to Disk Management. At this point, both drives are visible. My primary storage drive is X:, and the new drive is Disk 0, with all 6 TB unallocated.
I then right-clicked on the X drive that I wanted to copy, and selected "Add Mirror". I pointed the target to the new drive, and clicked OK, and let it run overnight. In the morning, the mirroring was finished, and I had two drives listed as X. It looked like the mirroring was successful.
However, when I went to re-mount the X drive in Veracrypt, it failed. Nothing happened, Veracrypt hung and didn't do anything.
I removed the mirror from the new disk, so that it was now just the original X drive. It still does not mount.
I think that the X partition no longer has a blue header (primary partition), it now has a yellow header (simple partition).
Anyway. I need help, very badly. I thought that mirroring my encrypted drive would just copy it, and leave the drive unmodified. Apparently that is not the case, and I feel like I'm going to have a heart attack (not really, but you get it).
Can you help? I am desperate.
