Forza Motorsport 7 was working beautifully for me for the couple days since I got it up until yesterday afternoon. At that point, whenever I try to open the game up, it opens a window with a splash screen, then immediately closes.
I feel like this started happening since I pinned it to my Tiles, so just in case, I unpinned it. It was still opening and closing immediately. I turn my computer off and back on, still doing the same thing.
I read that this is happening to other people, but didn't see any concrete answers. One person recommended downloading something small on the Windows Store app. So I did this, tried to play the game.... and voila! It was working!
....and then I realized it was running at only 20fps. On the dot. I moved my mouse to the bottom of the screen by accident and noticed the game went right back up to 60fps. Putting my mouse down there lifts the taskbar up (not something I have my taskbar set to do). But once I pull the mouse away, the game goes back to 20 fps.
This is not an unstable 20fps or 60fps. They are consistent. I'm thinking the game is meant to run at a lower framerate and load when in the back ground or something? But why would it be exhibiting that when I'm in the actual game.... and then when the task bar is up, it runs in glorious 60fps?
I checked the Task Manager whenever I opened the game and it closed, and I found no processes that looked remotely like what it should have been. Nothing about Microsoft Store, Store, Forza... nothing.
Why did downloading a thing make the game load? It was just a tracksuit from my library. It wasn't coincidence... that genuinely made the game run.
This is all so confusing. Again, for the couple days prior to it doing this, it was working flawlessly, no glitches, no 20fps. It was perfect! But now this is happening.
Anyone know what is going on, or what to do?
