This has been happening long as I can remember, years... It doesn't happen often but it happens enough to be annoying.
I'll be using my pc like normal, just browsing the net doing whatever, then suddenly webpages stop loading and the youtube video/twitch stream I'm watching starts buffering endlessly. This is my red flag to know my PC is about to go down... I try clicking different links, and the click goes through, but webpages don't load. Essentially my internet stops working. Then I'll minimize the browser and try opening something else and the clicks will go through and the app will try to load but I'll just get the loading cursor. Then I'm unable to minimize, maximize anything. Explorer freezes. I can still move my mouse around for ~10 seconds then that locks up too and the computer is just totally frozen from there. This whole process happens in about 30 seconds. I have to then do a hard-shutdown on my PC.
I've checked my hard drives for errors with HDTune. Just purchased brand new memory and a brand new video card. Did a total re-install of Windows and formatted both drives. Purchased a brand new power supply a few weeks ago. I updated my BIOS.. I don't know what else to do.
The only common demoninator I can think of right now are my motherboard, maybe some of my USB devices, and maybe some apps I installed, but the only things I can think of that might freeze my PC like that are Geforce Experience, flux, and my VPN. I don't have anything that fucks around in the background of my PC. It's all just game launchers like Origin, Steam, etc.
I should also note that I don't recall this ever happening while I was playing a video game. It seems to only happen when I'm using my computer normally.
