I want to create a very simple website, just some text on a screen. I don't want it to look nice, I don't want images, fancy graphics, or special formatting, I literally just want black text on a white background. This may sound unusual but it's what I want to do. I've already managed to make an HTML file that looks like I want it to, and I suppose that technically that means I've made the webpage, since I can open it up with my browser. But I want to be able to access this website on the Internet by typing an actual URL into the address bar, I don't want it to exist only on my own computer. I realize that this means I have to purchase a domain name, and I am willing to do so, but as far as I can tell all of the services that allow you to get your own domain name also come with a built-in website editor that always ends up changing the formatting of my HTML file. Is it possible to build a webpage from scratch in HTML and get it online? If so, how? (I apologize in advance if my description of the situation is unclear, I don't have very much experience with HTML or building a website.)
