Pekanbaru - Pangkalan Udara (Lanud) Roesmin Nurjadin, Pekanbaru, kembali menerima lima pesawat tempur F-16. Pesawat tempur ini akan memperkuat armada yang sudah ada.
Pesawat F-16 ini tiba di Pekanbaru pada Kamis (1/3/2018) di Lanud Roesmin Nurjadin (Rsn). Kelima pesawat F-16 ini datang ke Pekanbaru secara bertahap. Awalnya siang tiga pesawat dan sore harinya menyusul dua pesawat lagi.
"Pengiriman pesawat ini merupakan bagian dari 24 pesawat tempur yang dibeli dari Amerika Serikat," kata Komandan Lanud Rsn Marsma Age Wiraksono, Kamis (1/3/2018) sore.
Age menjelaskan kelima pesawat ini merupakan tipe F-16 C dan F-16 D dengan single sitter. Sedangkan pesawat F-16 sebelumnya tipe A dan B.
"Kelimanya datang hari ini dengan waktu yang berbeda. Terakhir tadi dua pesawat karena sebelumnya ada training di Lanud Iswahyudi," kata Age.
Age menjelaskan kelima pesawat ini dalam kondisi prima. Penambahan pesawat tempur di Lanud Rsn ini untuk menjaga wilayah udara di Indonesia, khususnya di bagian barat.
"Kalau semuanya di-full-kan di Jawa, tentu response time terhadap perkembangan situasi di perbatasan akan lambat. Lanud Roesmin Nurjadin merupakan home base F-16 yang memang sudah dipersiapkan sejak lama," kata Age.
