Hey guys, a few weeks ago I got the old PC from my dad, which was fully resetted. He didn't have any kinds of problems before that.
Since I got it, I have constant problems with my display driver. It usually happens when I get in-game, (I'll use Fallout 4 as an example): I get to the menu and load my save, it loads the world, and after a few seconds the in-game sounds stop, and I get a blank screen (it can be a white, yellow, blue and even purple screen without any text). Then,a couple seconds later, I hear the Windows device disconnect sound. Then I restart, and sometimes I get the notification: "Display driver failed to start; using Microsoft Basic Display Driver instead". In Overwatch, I usually get to the title screen, after which my PC just restarts, without any error-message at all.
I have since bought a new graphics card and a new monitor (it was time for a change anyway), but that didn't help. I tried to reinstall nvidia's newest driver, I let Windows automatically install a graphics driver, I reinstalled Windows entirely, it all didn't help. It once worked for week or so without any problems, and I didn't shut down my PC for that time, but after playing Overwatch for a couple of hours my PC hard-resetted again, and the problems re-emerged.
