Greetings,

My system has issues booting when any changes are made to the CPU/RAM in the UEFI/BIOS. I get a black screen with text reading "your system failed to boot several times" when allows me to then press F2 to re-enter the UEFI/BIOS to undo or modify any changes. If I don't press F2 at that screen, it loads Windows normally, except with my changes reverted to stock speeds anyway.

When I first built this PC a few days ago, I was able to make changes that saved. I was able to OC. I put it into sleep mode one night as I slept and woke up to it unresponsive to anything. The lights in the case were on but the monitor was pitch black. I had to force it to shut down and that's where these issues began.

Now I can't do anything at all in terms of OCing. Any change gives me that error.

The CMOS battery is fine because the date/time are still accurate and I made a change to an RGB setting that my motherboard allows in the BIOS that saved so I know it's not that. I can make changes everywhere else in the BIOS except when it comes to OCing anything.

Here are my specs

  • i7 8700k
  • Kraken x62 Liquid Cooler
  • Asrock Z370 Extreme4 Motherboard
  • GSKill RBG 16GB-4266Mhz RAM
  • 1TB Western Digital HDD
  • GeForce GTX Titan X
