as i was running errands, i began getting notifications from paypal, amazon and ebay about purchases i had made, when in reality i hadn't made any. i called paypal first and suspended my account as well as told them of the issue. then i began the process of calling any and all my cards, banking and what not, that i access from my computer, though i wasn't sure, at first, how they got my info.
then i returned home to my computer, and saw that my password manager was open, with various sites' info open, aka login and password. the actual webpages for those sites were open as well. i also realized that when i was using the computer that morning, that someone must've been was accessing it at the same time i was using it, since i was having mouse issues and my paypal account was open though i didn't remember having recently done so.
i am pretty sure no charges actually went through as i caught onto the problem as it was happening (i cannot access any of my online banking since everything has a temporary freeze on it). i have an email address associated with the amazon purchase, but thats about it.
im reaching out to make sure i have fully done all i can with regards to cleaning my computer and removing the probably cause, as well as seeing if anyone can track down the info of the person(s) behind that email. my laptop is currently NOT on the wifi as i am running any and all scans (security scan, malware bytes, malicious software tool removal). i have been linked to the stickied post regarding malware removal and am beginning that process now.
i have cleared my google smartlock and changed ALL passwords, as well as alerted the credit bureaus and put a fraud alert on myself/my life.
