Windows 10 has been trying to force the Creators Update for a while now and automatically tried to update every restart. It always got stuck at either 19 or 20% so I tried to manually install it and it got stuck at 22%. My PC then got stuck in a loop in which it turns on, tries to recover for a sec, crashes and then turns on again, recovers, crashes, ....
I couldn't fix this, so I decided to just do a fresh install. I created a USB Stick with the Media Creation Tool and installed it on the same SSD again, after I wiped it. I then noticed something weird happening. My PC always froze after some time. Running videos just stop as if the PC lost the connection to the internet and opening a new tab freezes the browser. Opening new programs or closing the open ones doesn't work, although the buttons seem to react to the mouse hovering over them. Clicking multiple times on the Windows Explorer results in a message popping up asking if I want to end the process. Oddly enough, clicking that works, but makes the computer unusable, because the explorer doesn't start again.
I thought the problem came from the Graphics Card Drivers (installed through Geforce Experience), but this was proven wrong by a new install of windows without the drivers. At this point I also noticed that the PC always froze at exactly 11 minutes.
The next solution I tried was to use "sfc /scannow", which couldn't find anything wrong. After that I thought I should check if the issue also occurs in safe mode, which it does. Also after exactly 11 minutes.
So hey, maybe flash the BIOS? Updated from F1 to F6 (Gigabyte GA-H81M-D2V). Still doesn't work, dunno what I expected from that.
I also tried to run the PC without the GPU (GTX970) multiple times, which didn't work either.
Some people reported that fiddling around with some power options (PCI-e and hard drive) helped them, but that's not the case for me.
That should be all the solutions I tried. I just want to add that it's always exactly 11 minutes again until the PC freezes (according to task manager), because that just seems very odd. Some additional info from task manager: SSD is not running 100% or anywhere close (so it shouldn't be overloaded), RAM load is normal, CPU load is normal too. PC has been running in the same config for 2 years already.
