If I'm watching a video or something, I will often turn off my other monitor. But when I do this, Windows 10 treats it as if I've completely disconnected the display and sends all windows that were on that display over to the other one. When I turn the other monitor back on, I have to move everything back over to that monitor.
This even happens if I turn both monitors off (because one is turned off before the other), which has me leaving them on unnecessarily when I'm leaving the room for a while.
These monitors are connected via HDMI out to mini display ports on my workstation.
How can I get Windows 10 to stay in dual display mode, even when one of those displays is turned off?
