I'm not sure if this is the correct subreddit to post in, but it seems like it to me. I'm a PC gamer, built my own PC about 10 or so years ago and have been keeping it up to date successfully. I usually use KBM for almost anything, but do use a controller for more action oriented games. I have a DS4 and an Xbox One controller that I use, depending on which the game likes more. So this brings me to my current problem:
Certain games now have messed up keybindings, which I can't change. For example, two of my latest purchases: Secret of Mana and Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II. Both of these don't work properly with a controller. In Cold Steel, I have to press the B button for the game to recognize it as the A button, and L3 is what the game recognizes as Start. X is actually B etc. Secret of Mana is the same. But here is the kicker, it's JUST those games. I bought Kingdom Come: Deliverence a few days ago, not a single problem. A is A, B is B etc. I went and tried some other games. Iconoclasts is fine, Nioh is fine, Dark Souls III is fine, hell even some games I don't use a controller on, like Skyrim and Fallout 4 work fine with the controller. It's literally JUST these two new games. I should also add that I tried my DS4 as well, and it has the same issue.
I've looked through the Steam discussions and I don't see a single other person reporting this problem. It looks like it's just me, which is crazy. I tried uninstalling my controller drivers and reinstalling, but no luck. I've also tried wired and wireless. I fully understand that I can play with a KBM, but after playing both of these games on a console in the past, it doesn't feel right with those controls. Fortunately I have two weeks to refund, since I haven't even played the game past the menu screens yet. I know it's a long shot, but I'm hoping someone here has had this issue with a game before and can help.
Edit: I also tried out my Steam Controller, which should have automatic built in support. And that doesn't even work. So it can't be an issue with my controllers. It has to be an issue with something on my PC.
