IDK if this is a repeat or not but .....
I bought a new Samsung 500gb 850evo. At the time I was going to put it in a Toshiba laptop. I'm not real puter savvy (DUH) but I did buy a USB adapter. Had lots of trouble w/Windows & Toshiba so I bought a MacBook Pro (2011). Mac won't let me erase or partition to "the last block". By this time I have the Toshiba up &I going with win8.1 (that was a whole other story). So with the help of YouTube videos & driving my fiancé nuts I managed to command prompt in diskpart select disk 1, then put "clean" said it was successful. But when I tried to create a primary partition it said couldn't because it wasn't initialized. I was doing all this w/ the hope of formatting a primary partition in fat32. ( I think ) This is so my Mac could do its thing in Disk Utility. I hope your stayin with me here. My ultimate goal is to copy my OS El Capitan to the ssd & then replace the MacBookPro's 5400 rpm hd. I already fudged up when I ordered my RAM for said Mac, I bought the 1600mghz instead of the 1333 & it worked at first but then started the 3 beep of death so I have to send it back for some 1333 from crucial but I will deal with my 4 gigs for now but this SSD is driving me insane.
I hope this all makes some kind of sense ! ANY HELP will be greatly appreciated!!
