So bare with me, because I am not very tech savvy. My brother in law built me a new pc over the weekend. He installed a fresh hard drive running Windows 10, and at my request installed my hard drive from my old PC running Windows 8.1
It was working fine on Windows 10 until this afternoon when I had to reboot the computer and it rebooted into my old hard drive running 8.1. I entered the BIOS to make sure the order hadn’t somehow swapped it, and then tried isolating each drive on start up and it still booted into the old 8.1 drive.
I then opened the case, unplugged the 8.1 drive and attempted to start up and it wouldn’t even boot.
Anyone have any ideas? My brother in law just told me to make sure all my cables were secure, which from what I can tell they are. He lives an hour away so he wouldn’t be able to look at it until next Sunday.
