i have a 8560w elitebook laptop with an AMD radeon 6700m GPU and i7-2620m CPU. ambient temperature inside is 75 degrees c all around, and active cooling on laptop is on. there is one internal fan that belongs to the GPU, works well but a bit small.
the GPU doesn't have much of a problem of overheating as much as the CPU. usually the GPU is about 10-15 degrees C lower (ex = CPU is 85C while the GPU is 70C). i already throttled the CPU to no more than 70% power and these are the temperatures:
youtube, internet, etc : 65-70c
gaming : 80c
gaming (non throttled, 100%) : 95-100c
ive already taken this god forsaken monster apart (took a few hours) and reapplied a really good thermal paste (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002CQU14A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) on the CPU/GPU. no change. ive cleaned out fan area and the fan itself of all dust, no change either. ive also inspected the heatsink and it looks in good condition still and works well. its a small heatsink, but i dont think my temperatures should be this high.
any tips of what i could do to reduce temperatures? im only asking again because other users report about 10-20 degrees c lower than what i am reporting. should i replace the CPU? laptop cooler? something else?
