Hi /r/techsupport, I have a problem with my ASUS ROG GL551JW-DS74 Windows 10 16gb RAM i7 4720HQ GTX 960m 2gb

The problem started about a month ago. One night I fell asleep watching a movie and woke up to my laptop's BIOS screen. The mSATA SSD was no longer detected as a boot device and I later found that the battery was no longer receiving power. However, the laptop still worked when it was plugged in. I installed a 1TB HDD and reinstalled windows and the laptop runs completely fine now. I then bought a new battery on amazon figuring that the old one was just dead. Unfortunately I have the same problem with the second battery too. I have tried: Uninstalling the battery drivers and reinstalling. Then I tried leaving it plugged in for about 20 hours in order to calibrate the battery. After that failed I attempted the "remove battery and AC adapter and hold for 30 seconds" trick. Nothing works. I have also tested the adapter with a voltmeter and that is not the problem either. I do not know what else to try and my warranty is no longer valid. I wanted to try to update the BIOS to see if it would do anything, but I cannot do so without a battery. The laptop was bought in late 2015.

If anyone has any suggestions on what to do/try I would really appreciate it Thank you:)
