I have a dell latitude 3340, that my school provided me. anytime we have a tech issue we are told to take it to them but they take ages and maybe there is a simple fix.
Anytime I try and turn on my computer and it is not plugged it won't turn on. It does not even flash a red light saying battery is gone, just does not turn on.
If I unplug it while it is on it turns off immediate. I took out the battery with it plugged in and it recognized there was no battery and then recognized when I put the battery back in.
I turned off the laptop and took out the battery and air dusted all the little sensors on the laptop and battery. I did a battery report and used the math and my battery is at 96% health. It says my laptop is charging and it detects the battery.
It also makes a very high pitched sound. I really want to fix this on my own and not have to go to the tech support lady so help. She usually just sends the laptop back to dell and they fix it which takes weeks.
