I hope this isn't confusing so I'll do my best to explain my situation.
In my house right now, the router (which operates on 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands) is on the 2nd floor of my house.
- My stuff (desktop computer, S8, xbox) sits on the 3rd floor.
- My S8 is able to connect to the faster 5ghz band.
- My slower devices (say, an old xbox) can only connect to the 2.4ghz band.
- My S8 receives speeds of over 100mbps while my xbox barely barely 5mbps on the slower 2.4ghz band.
So my question is, is it possible to "hotspot" my xbox to use my S8's internet connection? I know how to hotspot, but it's making me turn on mobile data which I definitely do not want to do.
Not even sure if this will work, but I want the XBOX to basically connect right to my phone's wifi connection instead of the routers. Is this possible? Hopefully I'm making sense...
