The AC adapter is OEM, as far as I know. The full bios-esque error is as follows:
"Alert! The AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined. The battery may not charge. The system will adjust toe performance to match the power available. Note: This warning can be disabled in BIOS setup."
When I plug the Linux Live USB, the computer can charge as normal. In windows, won't charge at all.
Is it a hardware issue, software, or both? I have heard of something in called the "Power IC Chip" that regulates power in pretty much this way. Could that be the issue? I'm thinking it's possible that the Power IC Chip may be the issue and linux may just ignore it or not be entirely compatible with the power regulation the IC chip is meant to do.
What do you think is wrong? What should I check next?
