Need help troubleshooting a signal that is received but yields black screen

See full build: Computer Specs

I just finished this build yesterday. I am using one old monitor with three new.

So in a nutshell, what I am trying to achieve is a clone of my old Samsung monitor with my TV. The TV uses HDMI and the Monitor uses DVI-D, and the free port on my graphics card is a DVI-D.

I bought a cable that converts the DVI-D to HDMI: DVI-D to HDMI cable

This is the splitter: Active HDMI Splitter

And this cable converts the HDMI output back to DVI for my Samsung monitor: HDMI to DVI-I

I have tested the splitter and it works fine with the DVI-D to HDMI input cable and both of the outputs are HDMI cables

When I introduce the HDMI to DVI-I to convert the signal back for my Samsung monitor, a signal is received, but it is just a black screen.

All signs says that I have the wrong cable for converting HDMI to DVI. Even though the signal is converted to DVI-I, my DVI-D plug should still be compatible.

Why am I just receiving a black screen? Any help or suggestions are appreciated!

EDIT: Just as a note, I have tested each cable by itself and they are all working properly, just not in the configuration described above.
