I'm having this weird problem, that started happening recently. Will try to give as many details as possible.
So, I'm running Windows 10. Several days ago, when I tried to charge my Logitech G900 mouse, after I plugged the cable, mouse flashed the leds and suddenly all of them went out. The cursor wasn't moving as well. After I disconnected it, it started working wirelessly without any issues. Tried different ports, different cable etc, no luck. I thought it's something from the mouse, so I tried it on my laptop and it started charging without any issues. Went back to my main PC and unplugged the wireless dongle. After I put it in, it didn't work any more. In order to browse the web searching for answers, I found an old usb mouse and plugged it in my PC... I heard the sound of windows for a new device plugged in, and got a notification that it's ready for use, though cursor didn't move. In other words, the 2nd mouse didn't work as well. I tried troubleshooting the hardware and saw that ALL MY USB DEVICES are malfunctioning (having no drivers), but windows couldn't fix it by itself. For some reason though, my keyboard (which is also a Logitech wireless device with a separate dongle) was working without any issues. But non of my other usb devices was. I tried unplugging everything (every USB device), restarting, shutting the power off for like 15 minutes, nothing helped. Tried system restore, but it didn't work (gave some error about anti-virus program blocking it).
After several restarts and tries to make system restore to work, all of a sudden problem was fixed. Have no idea how. I still wasn't able to charge my mouse though, but found a workaround. If I switch it off from the button on the bottom of it, it will charge and not switch off manually. I can live with that I guess.
Sadly, today the problem happened again. This time it happened completely all of a sudden, after I closed my browser. Mouse stopped moving again, and when I checked the device manager, all my usb devices had an exclamation mark. I tried with system restore, tried safe mode, nothing worked. Again after several restarts of the system, all usb ports started to work again... Have no idea what is causing it, haven't installed any additional software or hardware recently.
And after another hour, the same thing happened once more... so currently all the USB ports are not working again.
Any idea what is causing the issue and how can I fix it? Thank you in advance.
P.S. well, I tried plugging in a flash drive in one of the usb slots, and the pc reads it... i don't understand what is going on... Pluggin a common mouse doesn't work though.
