Alright folks, so a couple days ago my sister got a new laptop, she sprung for the Acer Nitro 5 with the following specs (Windows 10 home) 15,6" Full HD IPS / AMD FX-9830P 8 GB RAM / 256 GB SSD AMD Radeon RX 550 4 GB GDDR5 Now initially for the price tag, it was a solid computer for her entry level gaming needs. Now fast forward a day into her ownership, she had downloaded her favourite game Guild Wars 2. Upon starting the game it ran at a stable 10 fps, which is by no means right considering her graphics options were set to medium / low. Now having had this problem before with an Nvidia gpu I came to help her. I've sat here for hours on end trying to come up with a solution. All I can really say is it's clear the dedicated GPU does not turn on during tasks requiring high performance such as games. I have gone through the AMD additional settings to no avail. If any of you have anything you can contribute I would appreciate it greatly.
