So I've posted this issue just a few days ago - I thought my gpu socket was busted but it turns out the VESA certified cable worked fine in my old monitor. Anyways I have the AOC agon 241qg, it's a gsync monitor with 1440p, 144hz refresh, 1ms - the main draw for me is that it has gsync, which my old monitor doesn't. but I can't get it up to 144hz. The option displayed when I first started the pc, but when I selected it, the screen went black and wouldn't come back until I did a hard restart. Eventually I got it to come back, but I can't go any higher than 85hz - the option simply isn't there. Not in Nvidia control, not in windows display properties, not anywhere. When I try to set a custom resolution, the same thing happens that happened the first time - the screen simply goes black and stays there until I hard restart. I'm thinking it's a power thing, but I don't know. I've tried everything, I feel. I've tried: *unplugging computer and monitor for 5-10 minutes *changing out cables (I am using VESA certified 1.2 dp cable) *trying it with my old monitor. everything functions. also got a SECOND new monitor with desired specs, same problem persists *reseating gpu and carefully cleaning all parts of pc *reinstalling drivers, updating drivers, driving drivers,etc... *turning off fastboot *checking all power options - no "power saver" options are enabled, system has plenty of juice. It is plugged directly into outlet, and like I said, everything works fine with my old monitor. *disabling and re-enabling gsync. *and many more....
any help you guys can give me would be big :)
