lets say i want to download something, i go to blahblah.com and i see 3 things that i need: file.exe, file.exe.sig, pubkey.
i download all 3 (first to from website and key from key servers) and verify the signature of the file that i downloaded with the pubkey and i am happy that it said good signature.
but here is the problem, i downloaded the pubkey (the hash of it anyways) from the same website. if blahblah.com is already compromised the attacker places his pubkey there too alongside the compromised files.
what is the solution?
