There is this type of ad that apparently no one else has had. I’ve tried looking up multiple things to see if others had experienced it, but I need to be able to talk to more than just google for help. I’ll try and explain it as best as I can: The ad usually features a completely white screen and text advertising a prize that I’ve “won.” It isn’t flashing or anything, just white with text and a small box where I can only click “okay” or “accept” which then takes me to a prize wheel, fairly normal pop up. It isn’t a pop up though. It is an entirely new page, but that isn’t even the worst part. The worst thing is that the ad reloads? I’m not sure what it does exactly, or if it’s just part of it’s programming, but it will fill my entire recent history with the same page, so no matter how many times I click back, I’m still stuck there. Even if I start out by holding down the back button (both on iPhone and laptop), there are so many of the page in the history that I have to open history in a new tab on my laptop and open the original page, or close the tab and try to find the page again on my phone. It isn’t preventing me from just closing the tab or anything, it doesn’t lock my browser, but it happens about once a week, maybe more, and usually on news articles. There hasn’t been one particular site, and it even happens on the WSJ or NYT, so it’s not that I’m just visiting shady sites. When it happens, especially on my phone, it’s irritating because then I have to re-find what I was reading, and it’s just annoying and time consuming. I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this kind of ad, what to do about it, or even just a company name so that I can see if they’re part of DAA and block them on my ad preferences. Thanks
