I've built a PC recently and I've been doing just fine on it but after powering it off last night and coming back to it today the power button wasnt working, I made sure the switch was flipped, the plug was in, nothing was working.

I opened up the panels, disconnected everything, including the CPU, and reconnected everything, still nothing.

I took the motherboard out of my PC, put it on my desk and disconnected everything again, tried it with one stick of ram and tried changing the slots, and still nothing, the only thing that's actually showing any sort of life is the CPU light blinks red when I jiggle the 24 pin connector back in after pulling it out but when inserted all the way I get no red light. I get the red light both in and out of the case, ive also had a few times that all my fans would spin for half a second and instantly stop if i push the 24 pin connector in a certain way. so its not a problem of a riser misplaced. The other sign of life I get is that my CMOS battery light flickers 10 times in half second intervals then flickers another 3 times for 1-2 seconds when I hold the power button down. I've also tried jump starting my PC from the motherboard connectors but nothing but I've held the CMOS connectors with a screwdriver and I'd get a constant blue.

I did the paperclip test and everything to my power supply and to my surprise it was working, its just not working when I plug it into my motherboard so I'm wondering is this a problem of a fried motherboard? I wouldn't guess it to be the CPU because after reading around on other forums that's highly unlikely.
