I'm wondering if this could be either the PSU or the motherboard. Unfortunately I don't have replacements around so I'm not sure how I would check which of them is broken.
Update: I left the power supply unplugged while taking a break. Now I plugged it back in and waited a few minutes before starting and it works again! I don't dare turn off this PC for the time being. I guess I might buy a new power supply anyway and hope that it's not the motherboard that's dying.
