I was about to clean and change the thermal paste on my laptop when I noticed there were plastic covers on both chips, with pins under them. I'm not very experienced with maintenance so I'm asking you guys whether it's okay to use the solution I was using to clean the old paste (99% alcohol and q-tips) to wipe the pins as well. I'm not sure if using the alcohol on them would be okay since I'd really have to rub on them. Also, do I reapply thermal paste on the other, smaller chips as well?
