So my Linux laptop has failed. I left it sitting on the desk with the battery ~70% charged and the laptop sleeping, but when I went to power it up a couple days later, the machine refuses to boot.
When I press Power, the button lights up, the power light on the front lights up, the CPU fan spins and the charging light will come on if it's plugged in. However, the Wifi and Module activity status indicators above the keyboard come on solid; these are supposed to blink with activity, not stay lit. The display does not come on at all, the HDD won't spin up, and the CDROM drive won't even open.
I have removed the RAM DIMMs and still nothing - no missing ram POST beeps or anything.
Am I correct in thinking this thing is just completely dead? Or does anybody have a few suggestions for me to try?
