I have an Asus RT-AC66U with the latest AdvancedTomato firmware installed. Even after a factory reset with that last upgrade, I'm getting a max of around 166 mbits up and down from Speedtest.net (gigabit fiber connection). Using the same cables, my PC gets 880+ mbits if I bypass the router by connecting it to a wall (or gigabit switch).

Ideally, I'd be able to simply plug the router into the wall, and my PC and other devices both wired/wireless into the router, so that they can see each other on the network for file transfers and such. But if I do that, then I'm only getting a tiny fraction of my bandwidth. So the workaround is to plug the switch into the wall, and my devices (including the router) into the switch, leaving the router for wireless devices, but that means that I can't use my PC to administrate the router, and my devices can't see each other on the network.

Is there something I'm missing to be able to omit the switch entirely (as I only have 3 ethernet devices) without sacrificing bandwidth? QoS (and bandwidth limiting) is not enabled.
