The former White House press secretary claimed he didn't lie during his tenure.

During an HLN appearance with conservative host S.E. Cupp, former White House press secretary Sean Spicer tried to claim he didn't lie while working for President Donald Trump's admnistration, despite having made numerous false statements from the podium.

Spicer did, however, admit that he "screwed up" at times.

A CNN panel hosted by Jake Tapper was thoroughly unimpressed with Spicer's first stop on his "redemption tour."

Alice Stewart, Ted Cruz’s former presidential campaign communications director, believes Spicer intentionally misled the public during his tenure as press secretary.

“I think what really hurt him more than anything is when, it wasn’t an honest mistake, it was pushing out information that wasn’t factually accurate,” Stewart said. “That hurts him more long-term than making an ‘honest mistake.'

After Tapper offered a devil's advocate defense of Spicer, saying his job was to sell President Donald Trump's message, political analyst Kirsten Powers shot it down.

“But he chose to do that, right?” Powers responded. “If you decide to work for somebody who’s going to make you go out there and say things that aren’t true, then I think you’re held accountable for that.”
