Una nuova nube di fumo si alza verso il cielo di Kabul. È l'ennesima bomba. L'ennesimo attacco terroristico che provoca almeno 95morti (secondo la Bbc) e un numero imprecisato di feriti: 158, almeno per il momento.
Chi è sopravvissuto alla strage fornisce un racconto drammatico: "C'erano molti corpi morti e sangue ovunque. Le persone piangevano, urlavano e correvano via". Un'altra persona racconta: "Mi trovavo vicino al ministro degli Interni per svolgere alcuni lavori. Non appena sono uscito, ho guardato alle mie spalle e ho visto un'enorme esplosione tra i due posti di blocco nell'area diplomatica".
L'esplosione è stata tremenda: gli edifici sono stati colpiti a centinaia di metri dall'esplosione. Le finestre dell'ufficio dell'Afp, a due chilometri di distanza, hanno tremato mentre a "Chicken street", la strada degli antiquari, le vetrine si sono infrante.
La strage è stata rivendicata dai talebani per bocca di Zabihullah Mujahid: "Un martire ha fatto saltare in aria la sua autobomba vicino al ministero dell'Interno, dove si trovavano numerose forze di polizia".

Per l'Agi, l'attacco sarebbe avvenuto nell'affollata piazza Sedarat, dove sono presenti gli uffici del ministero dell'Interno, la sede della polizia, la delegazione dell'Unione europea, e il liceo per ragazze Malalai. I talebani hanno insomma colpito il cuore di Kabul.
