Not sure if I should post this in r/iphone but idk figured this would give me better answers. Basically, I’ve had an iphon3 7 since about July last year, and about a week ago the headphone (lightning) jack decided to pretty die. The port still works completely for charging, but plugging in any headphones (adapter or not) does not work. If headphones do work, a slight tap on the back of the phone will cause them to no longer work again.
I’ve blown out the port, used a wet toothpick/alcohol and it still does not work. Could it be a hardware problem I have to fix.
It is also worth noting the iphone randomly bricks sometimes too, i,e i hard reset it and when rebooting it will stay on the apple logo until I let it run flat/cool down/plug it into itunes.
Due to the bricking starting at the same time, I’m leaning towards a logicboard problem?
The iphone is dropped regularly, however due to the heavy duty case has never been scratched/had its screen broken. This leads me to believe that the only option is to send it to apple.
Has anyone experienced the same thing and did they have to send it to apple for help?
