I have a 1060 6gb card and I want to make use of these extra monitors I have laying around. Unfortunately, my 1060 doesn't support VGA so I found a spare DVI cord which my card does still support and rammed it in. Once I plugged the DVI cord in and turned on my computer, the screen would boot into the bios and then the monitor would go black once my system tried to load windows making it unusable. To add more problems, my main monitor, which is connected via HDMI, does not even display the bios whenever my DVI monitor is plugged in.
As a desperate attempt to try and get the monitor to work, I booted windows up via my main HDMI monitor and plugged in the DVI monitor later (which was catastrophic). Once I plugged it in as I was booted to windows, all the fans on my video card went haywire and my computer blue screened. I don't know what happened there but I do know my GPU still works in tip-top performance!
I really hope someone knows what is going on here.
