As the title says my pc which has worked smoothly for the past year and a half, is now having extreme issues with audio and visual playback/real time streaming. These problems only started occurring after I tested a PSU upgrade from 500w to 550w, after which I decided to stay with the 500w PSU.
The main problem is that during audio or visual content, the audio playback will dropout, with the video continuing for .75 seconds approximately then freezing, and audio then resuming followed by audio a half second later.
Another major issue that is more than likely either a cause or a symptom is that my CPU usage is very high while the computer is relatively idle, with the average usage being ~40% and spiking to 90-100 when any video or audio is played.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled all drivers, however I still believe that this may be a driver issue somehow.
I am also running into some BSOD's when shutting down or restarting, these include: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL FAST_ERESOURCE_PRECONDITION_VIOLATION
My specs are as follows:
