I have a Brother MFC J650DW printer that's 2 years old. Every day, when I try to use the AirPrint function from my iphone5C or my iPad I get a notification saying "no airprinter found". So, I crawl under the PC and reboot the modem/router (Arris Touchstone SBG6782 from Shaw, 6 months old, wireless), and reconnect to the network and then the AirPrint function works - but only for awhile. Like maybe an hour. Sometimes I'll print a couple of things, go to print a third and then get the no airprinters found message. Aaaaargggggh! First, I called Shaw, my internet provider and they said they don't do printers so I should call Brother. So, I had 2 hr online chat with Brother, changing settings, etc (they don't provide support by phone), and at the end of THAT, they said it was an Apple problem. I phoned Apple (1 1/2 hours) checking this and that, and at the end of that they said to contact Shaw. Help! I'm stuck in a three way loop between Shaw, Brother and Apple. What I don't understand is - I had no problems prior to moving 6 months ago - the only difference equipment wise is the "better and newer" Arris wifi modem that is also a router. I also have 3 different networks now instead of 1 - one is 5G, one is 2.4 (the one I use on the printer and my Apple devices) and I'm not sure why...🤔 I can print fine from my PC to the printer. I also have an Apple AirPort Extreme set up from our old house configuration which I set up 4 months ago - prior to that the AirPrint function wouldn't work at all. The "sleep" function on the printer does not seem to impact the AirPrint function from working, once I reboot the Arris (and didn't affect airprinting at our old place). Sorry to be so long but I'm at my wits end! Do I have to call an in house technician to come and look at the whole configuration? Or is it that damn new Arris modem? Any help would be greatly appreciated (before I fall off the beam)!
