Description of problem
My wireless internet is only slow on my PC. I know this because my phone's speedtest results are 20mbps. I've also tried on other laptops and PC in the house and also got 20mbps. My PC is only getting 4-5mbps sometimes it can peak to ~10 though. Sometimes, the internet would simply crash and nothing would work until I either restarted my PC or rejoined the wifi by leaving it and connecting to it again.
Cause/Steps to recreate the issue
It is always recurring however I have read up it might be due to a program which may limit my internet or an 'internet accelerator'. I'm using AMD and apparently AMD QuickStream is notorious for slowing down the wireless. However, my CCC doesn't even install QuickStream (I apparently can't even install it because I'm on Windows 8). My current GPU is AMD Radeon HD 7900.
What I've tried so far to resolve the issue
- Updated all drivers (including wireless card and GPU to the best of my ability)
- Tried speedtest in Safe Mode to see if it was anything else (In safe mode I got max speeds)
- Reinstall GPU driver
- Connect with LAN cable
- Uninstalled CCC
- Changed from a static IP to dynamic IP (both had similar speeds but static was more stable)
